How to Make A Snow Man

Those yg selalu tgk berita mesti tahu kan, skang UK tgh dilanda musim sejuk yg sgt sejuk dan salji yg lebat. Fuh, kalo bukak Yahoo News or tgk berita kat TV, mmg dahsyat la, sampai ada kawasan yg minus belas2 celcius, and salji up to 40 cm.

Alhamdulillah, Plymouth setakat ni x de suffer from any of the above, although the temperature is around -3C at its worst. Sejuk beb! The most we've had was a brief, dusty spell of snow, quite easily mistaken as heavy frost.

Kalo snow pon x de, mana dtg nya snow man tu? Well actually, Aisyah's nursery hntr newsletter mintak parents bawakan decorations from home, either bought or home made to decorate their Christmas tree kat nursery. Pikir punya pikir, I carik jalan tgh and decided on a neutral theme, so kita buat la snow man (kalo Father Xmas ke, angel ke, star of Bethlehem ke, nnt dah menjerumus ke arah agama Kristian plak). Di samping memenuhi permintaan school, dpt jg spend masa ngan Aisyah wat crafts.

So, what you would need is:

A couple of coloured papers
Cotton balls
PVA glue
Glitter paint
Googley eyes
Coloured pipe cleaners
Paint brushes
A drinking cup

* Cut one coloured paper into the shape of a snow man. I used a cup to make the circles. The smaller rounded cup base for the head part, and the larger rim for the body.

* Dip cotton balls into some PVA glue and stick them onto the snowman-shaped paper

* Once dried, go crazy with the glitter paints and colour the cotton balls

* Stick to googley eyes onto the head part of the snowman. Make a pointy nose and a mouth for the snowman from another piece of coloured paper and stick them onto his face

* Wrap a pipe cleaner around the snowman's neck to make a scarf

Done!

Believe it or not Aisyah is better than me at this. My snowman is the pink one, with the wonky eyes (right - in the above pic). Hopefully ada jgk org lain yg buat homemade punya, coz yesterday when I checked, so far budak2 ni bawak yg bought aje, like a tiny snow globe, a Xmas tree ornament, etc. Kalo x nanti yg Aisyah sorg je standout from a far sbb deco paling busuk! Tp amat puas hati sbb buat sendiri, and Aisyah seemed very2 excited to take part. Cuba lah, it doesn't take long, from start to finish, including tidy up time, it takes about an hour, and give a few more hours just to dry off (I left it overnight). Selamat mencuba. Kepada yg dpt membina snowman drpd salji, ahhh... sila la enjoy and send some snow dusts this way. Kami di Plymouth terpaksa be extra imaginative utk main snowman jgk :)
