Newest Addition

Ya Allah, lebih sebulan rupanya x berupdate blog ni!

Macam2 yg nak diceritakan, tp tu lah, once dah berenti menulis tu, dicampur dgn mcm2 yg berlaku dalam waktu sebulan ni, aduhaiii.. x tercerita plak. Antara yg dah rangka2 dlm kepala nak tulis, moment2 terakhir from Plymouth before balik UK, adaptation sejak touched down kat Msia, nak share jgk kisah viva hari tu mcm mana, dan mcm2 lg.

TAPI...

Buat masa terdekat ni, nak share cerita yg paling BESAR lah buat masa ni (at least for me).

Introducing,

Ahmad Zayd Alhadi.

Our son. Adik kepada Aisyah. Eh, Kakak Aisyah dah skang ni (dia insist kita panggil dia Kakak tau).

Sedikit info:

Zayd was born on the Friday of the 1 March 2013 (1/3/13 hehe...) around 12.20 noon via C-section at Hospital Serdang, weighing 3.76 kg at birth. Alhamdulillah all went well (although the operation was SAKIT GILER tak ingat nya, but that's another entry lah ye). He's a little jaundiced, but is getting better. Doa2kan semua ok.

Lambat sgt update sbb mcm2 berlaku following the birth. Zayd masuk NICU, my incision leaking serum and blood, then Kakak Aisyah plak kena warded sbb demam panas and muntah2, and also pergi-balik a couple of days a week dkt Klinik Kesihatan nak cek adik Zayd's punya bilirubin level etc, etc.. so much so that I langsung x feeling berpantang you. Laju je melangkah and the hospital tu mmg dah hafal plak pelan lantainya dek bole tahan kerap la jgk check-in check out. But looks like things are getting better now, so Alhamdulillah for that.

Byk lg nak citer, such as the complete birth story, post-natal story especially al-kisah bertapa kat NICU dsb nya, breastfeeding challenges this time around, then ada gak rasa2nya nak tulis tips on what to do if you need to travel / fly at 30 weeks+ pregnant (I flew at 34 weeks pregnant ok balik Msia hari tu, gila gamble?!?), but that will have to wait. Inshaa Allah slow2 I will try to catch up. Rugi plak x document kan, bcoz citer birth and awal2 kelahiran Aisyah I can trace down to a 'T' dlm blog ni (dulu anak satu, x byk sgt kerja dlm pntg... now...hehe.. fengsan!)

I suppose ada yg going, 'weih bila pregnant, x tau pong?'. Err.. Zayd ni made in UK actually, tp aku x announce hari tu, saja bg surprise sket.  Ramai x tau, even sedara2 pon sebilangan kecil je tau sampai la dah balik Msia hehe. Close families je aku habaq. Kwn2 pon ada gak ala2 kecik ati sbb berahsia dgn diorg, tp aku hrp readers x mcm tu la ekk. Itu hari mmg focus dkt PhD, tp Alhamdulillah, now dua2 dah kira selamat. Klo ada yg perasan, last summer aku ada hiatus lama gile from blogging, itu penangan morning sickness la tu, dicampur dgn ke-busy-an thesis writing (tulis tesis, muntah, tulis, muntah, berselang selang. mcm tu lah). And also, dkt hujung2 tu gmbr aku kurg kat blog ni, asyik2 gmbr Aisyah je. As-sebabnya, perut dah boyot sgt. Badan pon dah besar huhu.

Tapi x pe, kita tepek skpg gmbr dkt2 hujung tu. See? see? Patut la perut aku begitu besar, adik Zayd pon dah 3.7 kg lebih... (masa ni kat Plymouth lg).

Ok, nnt ada masa aku update lg. Nak gi makan nasi. X sabar nak abis berpantang. Ada tiket utk mkn besar sbb I am now a milk-machine once again hehehe :)

Salam From Malaysia

We have safely reached Malaysia last week (Tuesday, 29 January 2013) at 6.15 pm, KLIA. Only a week has gone, tp rasanya mcm dah lamaaaaa sgt kat Msia, bcoz there's just so many things we had to do, and so little time to adapt to the changes. Even internet pun x de lagi kat rumah, so when I can, I grab the opportunity to do bnda2 yg penting dulu like check emails, internet banking etc, etc. I miss blogging. Byk nak cerita and share, but will have to wait. Mmg kerja giler, viva on the 24th, and we flew back on the 28th. But Allah Maha Kaya, maha Mengasihani, Maha Agung telah mempermudahkan segalanya buat kami, and what we've prayed for telah Dia kabulkan Alhamdulillah.

As expected, the changes in life ni byk slps balik Msia, and I think Aisyah is faced with the most challenges - the heat, the food, the mosquitoes and creepy crawlies -  you name it. It's all new and different to her, but I must report that I am massively impressed with the way she has adapted to these changes. First few days were tough, but now she has taken on the new life and wakes up at 5.45 am every morning *gasp* with a smile. Ye... 5.45 am coz the traffic is just so bad in Malaysia, in order to get to drop her off at my Mom's so that we can get to work in time (Hubs and I have lapor diri already). Never la kat UK nak keluar rumah so early kan, everywhere was within walking distance *sigh*

Changes in life are never easy. But as Lao Tzu once said, "Life is a series of natural and spontaneos changes. Don't resist them; it only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like."

So my darling daughter, the pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow. Remember, for every challenge encountered there is opportunity for growth. Most importantly, we are in this together...

We Did It!

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahilhamd....

Too much things going on, too little time to write. Ni nak fokus utk the trip back home plak. Will write the whole viva experience soon, time permitting, In Shaa Allah...

Parting Party?

Kalo ikutkan hati, I wanted to do something special for Aisyah's leaving 'do with several of her close friends at school. Something cool like buat a parting party ke, outing ke. Tp telek2 poket kalendar, mcm x cukup duit masa la plak. But wouldn't be just so nice? One last chance utk dia mengukir memori bersama kawan2? (ni siapa yg terlebih sebak ni x tahu la, budak ke, mak budak).

Anyway, I'm just glad that whilst she was here, she made some good friends, and was included in many celebrations. Amongst the most memorable would have to be Julia's Birthday party late last year, celebrated at the Drake's Den Soft Play Area. Julia ni kawan baik Aisyah masa nursery, and altho they went to different Primary Schools afterwards, her Mom wanted us to come. The party consisted of 20 or so children, and it was fun and well-organised.

The grown ups had fun too. In fact, ni ajo lah my Mummy friends yg rapat. Other mothers seem to bond well and very chummy over the school playground, tp aku mcm x sempat nak mesra sgt. Sbb utama, I was always rushing to Uni in the morning, and  dashing like mad, always out of breath, from Uni at pickup. I didn't have the luxury of gossiping 10-15 minutes at the school gate like many mothers do, or volunteering at any school events, much less taking an active roll in the Parent-Student Association meetings (shame on me!). How I wish I could be active you know. Mmg men-jeles-kan, tgk ibu2 lain after pick up beramai2 berjanji2 bwk anak2 swimming, or to the museum, or for play dates over coffee. Aku? terkocoh2 amik anak, then bg dia mkn, sambil2 masak for dinner, all the while anxiously menunggu Hubs balik kerja so that I can swap child care with him and sambung study. Such was the life. But I don't think Aisyah suffered, coz other than at school, she is always with either one or both of her parents. And one things for sure, I never, ever missed reading/homework time with her. Busy mcm mana, sakit mcm mana pon mummy dia, homework time is exclusively put aside. So is bed time reading session.

Ok, pjg plak merepek. Sbnarnya emo sket ni sbb brp tahun punya pent up ni. As I said earlier, here are some pictures of Aisyah and her friends at Julia's party. First diorg bg dlm an hour kot free play dulu dkt soft play area tu. Then budak2 diajak masuk bilik party, and it was time to blow the candle on the cake (for the bday girl la kan) Then mkn2. Very light je hidangan dia, air juice, crisps, chips, cucumbers, sandwiches, sausages (of coz I had to eye her like a hawk, sbb x semua benda dia bole mkn kan). Then the kiddos were given a choice of dessert, Aisyah had ice cream. Finally ada games like pass the parcel, disco2 dan standard games lain. Aisyah menang runner up on one of the games so dia ada dpt hadiah. Actually, in the end semua budak2 bwk balik party pack, ada sweets, crayons, balloon, etc. Msia pon ada all this, and maybe the food a bit more heavy and fancy pon, but still, it was her first party with school friends, so... She had been invited to another party previously in nursery, but she was unwell so I had to call the bday girl's (Maisy) mom and cancelled. Apapon, adala satu buat kenangan kan...
