New House Sneak Preview: Aisyah Corner

Aku rasa Aisyah happy pindah umah baru Alhamdulillah. Salah satu sbb nya ada Aisyah corner kitaorg buat dlm bilik, penuh satu rak tu dgn buku2 dia, so senang dia nak pilih buku masa nak tido (bedtime reading). Dulu ada gak rak kat umah lama, tp letak kat living room. Anyways, obvious kan, ke-excited-an dia?



God, Aisyah dah nak sama tinggi ngan rak!

Aku plak teruja jg sbb 2 minit shj berjalan keluar rumah sudah nmpk bumbung Uni. Syukur. Kalo malas lg nak ke lab x tahu lah aku.

Slacking

OMG! So many things to do, so little time!!!

And this time, I'm not talking about packing or unpacking business anymore. Well, actually, I am, but kali ni psl packing to go to my conference plak. Aiseh, so many things to do oneeee....

Print docs la, print itinerary la, betulkan slides la, rehearse presentation la, packing baju myself and Aisyah la, masak and pack bekalan makanan for a good few days over there la, and carik seluar slacks nak pakai utk masa present hehee..

Baru terperasan dah 3 tahun duk sini asyik lived in jeans ajo semato2 ish ish. Hang on a minute, that's a lie - actually ado seluar slacks 2 helai, tp yg kaler itam wat pakai gi my part-time job tu le, tp tu x kira coz cutting dia sungguh x flattering. Cheh.

Anyway, pencarian selama sejam berbaloi (pengsan la kalo Hubs tahu sbb dia suruh gi lab utk betulkan slides tp sempat gi merayau carik seluar plak dah!). Mmg lama nak jumpa yg muat dan berkenan, sbb aku ni pendek so kalo muat di pinggul, meleret2 di kaki, kalo padan dgn ketinggian, errr.. sama ada x menepati syariat langsung (fit berdo'oh la tu), atau mmg x bole pull up melepasi bontot pon haha.

Dlm duk give up dah (pasrah je la pakai seluar kerja), terjumpa satu seluar kat Debenhams ni, khas utk petite, cutting molek and on sale plak tu. Wah.. try2 terus muat, byr dan off we go lah. Keluar2 dressing room tu bole plak lagu background dia "Happiness for you..." Ok, mmg sah tepat pembelian seluar ni hahaha!

Ni dia seluar nya. Very formal la jgk, ala2 lawyer nak masuk court (grey with pinstrip and small belt). Tp belasah la. Nak pakai dgn blouse yg ada pastel flower kecik2, ok kot, jd ala2 casual-formal la kan.



OK so baju dah settle ni slides plak kena tackle. Aiyooo...

PS: Di kesempatan ini aku nak rakamkan ucapan terima kasih buat saudara Bard kerana telah cross examine kan aku nya slides and content nya. Kdg2 dlm menyampaikan kerja kita kpd org lain, kita jd too excited dan ingat org lain faham apa yg kita nak cuba sampaikan, tp keterujaan yg berlebihan biasa nya membuatkan kita hilang perspektif asal. An outsider looking in from a distance bole bgtau kat mana yg seluar slacking lacking dlm pengisian kita. Also, bila org dpt hold back diri kita drpd guna keywords yg sememangnya menempah tiket neraka akademik e.g. significant, more efficient, better, blah blah blah....

Move Ahead

TERAMAT BUSY!

Hah. Dah shout pon pada seluruh alam maya. hehe..

Hari tu pindah rumah. So mmg gile la sket masa tu. It's packing, then the move. The next day plak scrubbing rumah lama sblm serah kunci kat agent, tu mmg kaw2 punya sental la, nak dpt balik deposit punya psl. Now it's unpacking, unpacking, unpacking. Everything dah back in order (sort of), now adjusting to new life, tp adat la pindah and tukar habis service provider, problem with broadband la, telefon la.. sakit jiwa oo...

Ni gmbr2 rumah lama masa last menyental hari tu. Kira last time jejak kaki ke situ dah la kan. Aisyah ikut sama sampai tertido2 kat atas sofa. Xpe la, last time dah tido situ. Before this mmg tu la port dia tido siang, even dlm blog ni pon kalo rajin cari byk sgt gmbr tido dia atas sofa tu. Sayang plak sbb sofa tu best sgt.

The house looked really empty by the end of it. Teringat masa mula2 masuk dulu, masa kosong, brg pon x byk, very spacious rumah tu. Hati paling tertawan dkt dapur dia la, kecik but very practical and cosy. Masa nak pindah tu, SubhanAllah, mcm2 junk rupanya kami dah accumulate hehe...

Mmg byk kenangan rumah ni, ye la duduk lebih 2 tahun dah kan. Drpd Aisyah masih bergolek2 umur 5 bulan, masih ingat lg kami bentang duvet sepenuh rumah so that dia x jilat karpet. Then dia belajar duduk, bole mengengsot, bole merangkak (always sampai dapur!), taken her first step, first word, first jump. Bucu2 terantuk, terjatuh, termuntah, ter.. ter... Even dah nak pindah less than a month pon masih siap simpan tanda, terkencing terberak atas karpet apa semua masa potty training hari tu hehe...

Lebih menyedihkan, masa tgh kemas2 tu, dia ckp, 'I am saaaad'. Aku pon jd hiba tiba2. Terus aku ckp, 'Mummy is sad too'. Tp bila tanya, why are u sad? Dia jawab, 'I can't find the TV' (sbb dah pindah brg smlm nya). Loh.

Anyway, life must go on. The new place pon not bad at all. Ni just nak share letak gmbr rumah lama ni for the last time dah. Good memories :)

A New Beginning and And Ending - (Contest Result)

Bismillahirrahmaanirrahim...

Kita start entry baca basmallah sbb tgh feeling2 brand new pada hari Jumaat yg mulia ni (x de kena mengena dgn hari ini being the celebration of Good Friday di UK, but we love the day off from work nontheless. Sebenarnya, aku baru saja berpindah ke rumah flat baru ni smlm. Kira a new beginning jgk la to me and family. So officially, pg ni adalah pg pertama I woke up to a new place. And Alhamdulillah, everything went well with the move yesterday, terima kasih setinggi2 tujuh petala langit kpd Komuniti Malaysia Plymouth yg bertungkus lumus membantu pemindahan smlm (Zaim, Zafi, Afiz, Afham, Azfar, Bard, Shafie, Nadya dan K Mazni).

Aku tgk depa angkat brg bersungguh2 skali, berpeluh2 dan merah padam muka habis, in the heat yg sgt2 terik, sbb UK skang ni is going through a heatwave (not complaining tho!), cuaca dan suhu dia adalah lebih panas drpd Tenerife and Ibiza tau, and that is saying something coz it's only in April. Anyway, jasa kalian mmg x dpt nak dibalas, cuma nnt dah settle down Insya Allah hajat di hati nak wat housewarming plak, smlm tu mkn2 nasi lemak sambal sotong biasa2 je after the move (thanks Kak Mazni sponsored ayam goreng and the rest yg bawak fruits and drinks sama). Btw,byk giler brg kitaorg, bkn la branded ke apa pon, just stuff yg pakai hari2, tp over the 2.5 years dah accumulate jd byk giler. Bole tahan lama dah aku duk di sini huhu...

So itu la alasan aku knp lately ni mcm x de masa nak blogging sgt. Packing dari rumah lama bermula sejak habis meeting ngan SV Jumaat lps lg. Hari ni plak plan nya nak ngemas rumah lama dan serah kunci by today. Harap2 dpt la full deposit semula, tu la yg smgt kental kena menyental sat gi. Haduhai.. letih badan. Mungkin esok lusa la kot baru dpt unpack and kemas umah baru ni betul2 sket. OK nnt next entry aku citer lg eh psl rumah ni.

Alhamdulillah internet, phoneline and TV kat umah baru dah activated smlm, so dah bole online. Kiranya ni entry yg first lah drpd umah baru chewah2. But that's NOT the only new beginning right now - THIS BLOG pon ada melalui fasa new beginning jgk, dah reached a new milestone. It has reached 50K views woohoo... Alahai buat malu je org lain dah million2 views, apa lah sgt 50K aku ni. Tp x pe, benda2 tu semua relative, and yg penting, aku happy blogging dan x ralat pon creating this blog.

And thus, I am so glad I did the contest tau, sbb dlm kekalutan aku nak pindah tu, x dpt nak capture nombor 50000 exactly tu. No More Woops!

Tiada lagi woops woops accident... Alhamdulillah, I can safely say Aisyah has mastered the art of potty. Kalo tido malam pon bole bgn, gi shopping pon biznes bole berjalan spt biasa, gi umah org pon x kekok di toilet, asal aje kita usung training seat dia tu with us. So glad x ajar dia pakai portable potty, kalo x lg besar mengusung benda gedabak tu ke hulu ke hilir. Kat nursery pon carer dia bg positif remarks everytime. Ni compare 2 weeks ago dgn last week.



No more accidents, see? Well done Aisyah. We are so proud of you!!!

PS: Not so proud of myself though. Just received an email from a conference I submitted bac in January. One paper got rejected, and the other downgraded and accepted as poster. Blurgh. Wonder if they'll still fund me this time, hmmm...?

I Bet You Felt Like This Earlier This Morning...

Why else are you bloghopping so early in the day, so early in the week, right? Just kidding ;P

Saja utk kenangan hari tua, Aisyah on days yg dia x belum bersedia utk wake up just yet for nursery. I normally kejut2 dia drpd dlm bilik, dan take her out letak atas sofa plak, dpn TV yg dipasang channel CBeebies kuat2 sket. Normally in less than 1 minute she is up and awake, no tantrums. Tp pg gmbr ni diambil, dia x larat nak layan TV pon hihihih... This was shot around 7.30 am. As you can see, it is already very bright outside, sure feels like summer already!

Heap Loads of Running Pics

I went running today. Gmbr last running session pon ada amik jgk, tp x sempat2 nak upload and share from last week, so skali kan aje lah dalam this post. Last week I went running on the flattest route I could find. It took me all the way to St Judes. I was pretty chuffed about being able to run non-stop all the way there (~ 1 mile one way), only to get bad stomach cramps on my way back plak. Lactic acid must have set in... Frust sungguh! Mcm mana nak lari 5 km ni, 1 batu pon dah sakit perut!?!

But I still enjoyed the run very much, especially area St Judes ni is very dear to me - I had spent the 1st one month living here, masa mula sampai Plymouth, menumpang rumah member yg dah pon balik Msia. Made me think how much time has passed, and life has progressed. Several parts of the town that I thought was intersting included the old Mews, an old pub named 'Trafalgar', established in 1897), a building with the sign 'The Working Mens' Reading Room' encrypted on its stone, dated 1800s (zaman dulu nak membaca pon kena ada berjemaah ke? Ikut gender mcm nak solat plak :P) and a firework factory. Weih, ada ye di sini? Di celah2 rumah org plak tu, scary shit la. I find them all interesting bcoz these buildings have managed to survive two world wars, and masih megah berdiri, and lebih menarik lg, these are all within walking distance aje. Actually, hari2 nak lalu utk gi Uni pon bole, but I never did sbb kejar masa and take the main road, which is quite bosan actually. I'm glad I 'discovered' them before balik Msia...



This week, enticed by the landai-ness of last session's run, I took the same path, but I got a little too ambitious and sedar x sedar dah sampai the sea front, omak ko! Best betul jogging tepi laut sbb cuaca hari ni mmg cerah betul. That early in the morning, mmg refreshing betul lalu sana. X la jauh mana pon, add another 10-15 minutes on top of my last run je. Suka tgk boats and yacht org dah started sailing in and out of the harbour. Masa ni la nak tgk kereta2 mahal (convertibles manjang) and skodeng2 condo org kaya tepi laut tu, yg baru2 nak bgn ahli rumahnya. The sea is one thing I will miss most bila dah balik Msia nanti. Tp x leh lari laju sgt kat tepi laut ni, sbb jalannya adalah cobbled, silap2 bole tergelencos kata org Klate (tergelincir), naya je kang kalo tergeliat buku lali.
What I love most about running on a Sunday morning is the sight, smell and sound whilst running. You smell their coffee and Sunday breakfast drifting out the window masa lalu celah2 rumah org, you see people in their pyjamas baru bukak langsir and tingkap rumah diorg, coffee in hand, you hear the church bells ringing in the background. Now I know what Leo Babauta's been talking about the priviledged feeling of being up before the rest of the world does :)

Done, Doing And To Do

Alhamdulillah... baru lps jumpa SV... lega x terkata... So x la bersalah sgt over this weekend nak buat apa2 yg patut tu... Paling penting, masih di landasan yg benar dlm pengajian dan slides utk dibentangkan ke konferens at the end of this month pon SV dah sgt puas hati td, syukur! Kali pertama kot dlm sejarah slides siap beberapa hari sebelum jumpa SV, mungkin jgk sbb dah tau lps buat slides ni akan busy ngan coding plak (nak kena tunjuk kat SV jgk progress utk perjumpaan td), dan jgk lps ni nak buat itinerary utk the coming conference. Plus ada beberapa event coming and going next week, tu yg bole plak paksa diri siapkan slides awal tu. It's that or I really am getting more *cough* mature, chewah2... so yg bahagian ni kira done lah

Anyways, just a short one lah today. Kesungguhan mengcoding dgn tujuan nak kejar deadline meeting telah membuatkan aku agak penat (fuh.. ayat x bole blah sungguh). Walaupon ngakk berjaya lg menjalankan simulasi dgn jaya nya, tp masih bole happy sbb smgt coding tu dtg balik. Dah lama jgk put off coding ni, sbb focusing on understanding the algorithm first (read: cari, belek dan baca byk buku dan tesis org). Ni lah dia cabaran org cetek ilmu spt aku ni, semua kena carigali dari azali, sdn bhd. Makan masa jgk semua tu, tp anggap semua ni atas nama mencari ilmu kerana Allah. Semoga Allah permudahkan urusan kita semua. Xpe la, kiranya ini masih lg doing.

Apapon, it's Friday, so there's another reason to be happy, yeehaa. I have big plans for next week, hatta mengakibatkan mungkin x masuk lab for a few days, so this will be the last part of the title - things to do.
