Winter Break In Roscoff, France - Day 2

Ok, sambung kisah smlm. Mlm tu tido quite uneventful, cuma mmg terasa gak la beralun2 dan terhayun2 dlm kapal tu. I really couldn't wait for morning. At 8 am waktu Perancis, kitaorg pon sampai ke Port de Roscoff.

[1] Ni gmbr sblm disembarkment. Gmbr atas deck ferry, overlooking the port. Masa ni matahari baru keluar dgn malu2 nya. Sbb diorg let go kereta2 and lorry di bawah perut kapal dulu, byk masa utk posing2 masa ni. Kalo nak bukak bekal nasik lemak dan makan masa tu pon bole...

[2] Mula2 sampai, kena mencari jalan kebenaran dulu. Which way now, Monsieur?

[3] The road was quite straightforward and instictive aje, which translates as kitaorg jalan main taram aje. Tp last2 jumpa jg Old Harbour, and we were greeted with the sight of this. Peaceful! Roscoff is sooo different from Plymouth, despite it being a fishing town by the sea spt Plymouth. For a start, bgnan2 nya kekal traditional gitu, whereas Plymouth ni bgnan mmg an architect's nightmare la sbb Plymouth kena bombed dulu masa perang dunia, so bgnan2 yg bersejarah semua kena attacked, and was qucily replaced in the 50s-60s dgn bgnan kotak2 yg hodoh. What an eye sore.

Anyway, kitaorg ingat Plymouth ni already a very quiet town compared to other bigger cities in the UK sbb duk di ulu gitu, tp Roscoff is definitely quieter. It's very calm and quaint, almost like the time stood still bcoz no-one is going anywhere fast. It's like everybody has a very laid-back and relaxed way of life di sini. You do not see anyone rushing, just makcik2 tua naik basikal mcm beskal tua kita di Msia, smiling at you. Also the roads are small, so the cars move slowly, never zooming past you, leaving you in the dirt, spinning like crazy spt di bandar2 besar. Heck, nak cari supermarket pon x de, yg ada hanya lah kedai2 runcit kecil2an, no chain stores ok. It's like kemajuan never really reached this place, tp kemudahan2 asas tu ada la. Just kalo nak unwind tu bagus la. Oh, and mmg x nmpk sesapa yg lain bwk stroller la pendek kata. Mmg kawasan tourist or kawasan people come to retire:)

[4] Jalan punya jalan, jumpa la hotel kitaorg - Hotel Armen Le Triton. Let's check out the room. For a 3-star hotel, sgt2 not bad. Owner dia very friendly, bg check in awal plak tu (check in at 9 o'clock lg!), the rooms were clean and tidy. We had a double bed and a single bed, bilik air siap ada bidet lg. Clean towels and linen disediakan (I didn't think they would, rugi bwk tuala siap2).

[5] Dah puas hati dgn bilik tu, kitaorg berkampung kjp ke bilik Shafie utk makan bekal nasi lemak sambal udang secara berjemaah. Sila bwk air mineral byk2 ye. Spt biasa, bilik2 hotel di Europe ni x sediakan kettle. Lapar punya psl gmbr nasi lemak x sempat snap2. Plus kitaorg kena mkn cpt2 sbb nak kejar train ke Morlaix pkl 11 pg!

Ok I wish I could write more psl Morlaix, tp masa x mengizinkan. It's late and I have to put Aisyah to bed. She's got nursery tomorrow and I have a morning shift at work. Hubs dah jeling2 tu, so to be continued again la nmpknya cerita ni. Will resume with cerita jalan2 di Morlaix plak, a bigger town 30 minutes train-ride from Roscoff. We spent quite some time there, saja2....

Kalau melawat negara orang, Azrin and I pun prefer the suburbs rather than the cities. These places usually have nicer sceneries (and more relax I guess). Tapi selalu terfikir, apa la yang diaorg buat on weekends because usually kawasan2 terpencil ni, shops close on weekends. Kita jalan sekali-sekala ok la, tinggal kat situ, ntah la macamana :D
