Conference At Royal William Yard

Smlm menghadiri konferens Neuro*Arts sbb kebetulan tahun ni Uni Plymouth ni jd tuan rumah. Sebenarnya conf tu start hari Khamis lg (which I went too), tp 1st day buat dlm kampus aje, second day tu dia buat di Royal William Yard, Plymouth. Agak terpinga2 jgk la nak pegi tempat tu sbb x pernah sampai pon lg tempat ni. Skali dah pegi tu teruja la plak sbb cantik tempatnya, sbb mmg harbourside kan. Dgn gaya blogger sejati, mula la menggedik amik gmbr dulu sebelum masuk konf tu, walau pon sorg2 ajo hehehe ...

[1] Mula2 start dgn tempat tunggu bus, dpn St Andrew's Church. Tunggu di Royal Parade for bus no 34. Tp haram x tepati masa. Apparently, ini adalah common sbb Royal William Yard (RWY) tu kawasan terpencil tepi laut, bus x slalu lalu hampeh..

[2] Sbb bus x tepati masa, bole snap snap lg gmbr bganan sekeliling tu. Ni Guildhall, kalo postgrads nanti konvo kat dlm ni, usually held in December every year (lain drpd budak degree di The Hoe in September every year). Hopefully I will have the priviledge to experience this one day.

[3] Dah sampai pon. Tgk surrounding area... Rumah seketul2 (banglo), bukan teres or flat mcm kat bandar, kalo x pon apartment mewah yg ada beranda ngadap laut tu. Kereta yg keluar masuk plak yg mewah2 ajo... convertible bagai... Tgk aje rumah ni.. org lain parking kereta dpn umah, dia parking boat. Korg ado? Aku lg la x do. Parking bus ajo depan rumah, x pon parking kasut (menapak la makna nya tu) :P

[4] Ngadap laut

[5] Nak masuk area RWY tu ada pintu gerbang besar

[6] Di bgnan ini konferens nya

[7] Tercari2 dan nyaris sesat sbb area sunyi...

[8] Tiba2 ternampak sign post ni. Ah, dah makin dkt ni... tidak syak lg!

[9] Yeah, dah jumpa!!!

Konferens dia berlangsung dlm bilik sempoi je kat dlm tu. Dinding nya x berplaster pon, mcm warehouse pon ada gak rupa dia. Ke mmg dia nak maintain ala2 buruk gitu atas dasar preservation ke x tahu la aku. Ni cedok drpd Wikipedia:

"The Royal William Victualling Yard, in Stonehouse, a suburb of Plymouth, England, was the major victualling depot of the Royal Navy and an important adjunct of Devonport Dockyard. It was designed by the architect Sir John Rennie and was named after King William IV. It was built between 1826 and 1835, and occupies a site of approximately 16 acres (65,000 m2). The Yard was closed in 1992 and subsequently passed into private hands. Grade I listed, it was converted to an up-market mixed use development by Gilmore Hankey Kirke Architects and Urban Splash. Mills Bakery was originally equipped as a biscuit and bread factory in 1834. Given only one full production run, there was no more baking here until 1847 when, newly equipped , it was used for its original purpose until 1925, subsequently becoming a clothing and equipment store."

Ok tu je la yg bole aku share skang. Sbnarnya nak kongsi isi kandungan konferens jgk, tp masa x mengizinkan. Maybe dlm next entry la ye, Insya Allah...
